The 2023 XMAS Event is the first event to be added to Tower Defense X. This event released on 23 December 2023, with XMAS Nightmare releasing on 7 January 2024. It introduced 13 new skins, 1 event-exclusive tower, and added 3 new maps along with the event[1].
When beating the event on the XMAS gamemode for the first time, the player received Cryo Ranger and one of 6 different Christmas skins. Players randomly received one the Christmas skins, and they were unable to get duplicates of these skins, meaning they had to beat the event 5 subsequent times to get all 6 skins. However, the Christmas Artillery skin could've been obtained from beating XMAS Nightmare, even after the event had ended.
Additionally, players were able to opt-out of completing the event 6 times to get all the skins by purchasing the XMAS bundle, which costed 
325. Cryo Ranger could have been bought separately for 300.

Trivia[]
- This was the first event in TDX and the first event to award towers and skins upon completion.
- The event's unusual system of obtaining towers and skins would only be used one more time for the 2024 Valentine's Event, albeit with a random chance instead of it being guaranteed, before it would never be used again, replaced by the battlepass system starting in the Tower Battles Event.
- John wanted to add more to the 2023 XMAS Event, although due to time constraints this wasn't possible and the developers had to make due with the time they had.
