The Cryo Blaster is a debuff tower that uses a handheld cryogenic blaster to freeze enemies. It will not do any damage to any enemies until the third upgrade for either path. While attacking, the Cryo Blaster applies a set amount of Freeze to an enemy, with its Reload Time being how frequent it applies it. Each enemy has a set freeze HP, which is affected by the physical size of the enemy. While its freeze HP is lowered, the enemy will slow down. If the value reaches 0, they will be stunned indefinitely until ice damage stops being applied, causing it thaw out. The Cryo Blaster can freeze nearly every enemy if utilized correctly.
Upgrades[]
The Top Path for the Cryo Blaster aims at freezing hordes of enemies, and can technically freeze any enemy (excluding boss enemies) if enough are placed down, due to level 5-X having Ignore Ice Resistance. This path is mainly recommended early-to-mid game, as it lacks Stealth Detection and cannot freeze bosses unlike its counterpath. However, in Endless Mode, it is able to quickly freeze Calamity's spawns and other tanky threats that are small, allowing players to stop them indefnitely and buy time to kill them.
The Bottom Path for the Cryo Blaster makes it easier to freeze singular stronger enemies such as the Smasher and the Revived Abomination, while sacrificing its splash and having a longer Reload Time. It also gains the ability to freeze bosses like Predator and the Eradicator at level X-5. Its Bottom Path also grants it Stealth Detection, while dealing decent damage at the same time. When pairing this with a Top PathEDJ, it is able to be used late game to freeze the Eradicator MK II in Expert Mode, or even the Golden Eradicator MK IV in Endless Mode[1].
For Top Path, it's a good idea to place this tower near the enemy spawn on Last/Weakest targeting to freeze enemies, or next to a low range tower on Last targeting to let it tower deal more damage.
For its Bottom Path you should set your targeting on Strongest to freeze-lock a specific enemy.
If you have enough Bottom Paths, you can freeze major bosses like Eradicator and Revived Plague Doctor, although this is difficult due it being quite costly to do so.
Cryo Blaster's placement cost is the second lowest in the game behind Scarecrow, who is an event tower. This makes Cryo Blaster the cheapest bait tower accessible for all players.

The Bottom Path Cryo Blaster appears on the victory screen.
The Cryo Blaster was previously used to freeze Multipliers, preventing them from multiplying annoying enemies.
While Multipliers can still be frozen, it is a lot harder to do so.
The Cryo Blaster was originally referred to as "Cryo Thrower" and had a different design.
The remodeled Cryo Blaster was first teased on 28 March 2023 in the TDX Discord server by JOHN ROBLOX. The caption of the image, "You Will Not Be Memed Like The Others Mr Freezer", is a reference to how in most tower defense games on Roblox, freezer towers are typically weaker or outclassed by other units.
The original model for the Cryo Blaster will be turned into a skin.
The Cryo Blaster and the Flame Trooper are the only towers to smoothly rotate to their target instead of locking on.
