Description[]
Dr. Xenon is the narrator of XMAS Nightmare Mode and the second narrator who appears in the game after the Advisor, who is the main narrator for the main five gamemodes. She is the main antagonist of the game, as she is the one responsible for sending the enemies to raid the player's base to take control of the GDA, as stated this on Wave 19 of XMAS Nightmare, and is also the creator of several Eradicators.
Appearance[]
Dr. Xenon has light pink skin and silver hair, seen wearing a black suit and tie underneath a white lab coat with pink accents on top. She wears a headset with a big red "X" floating above it, sporting black pants with pink stripes in the middle and black gloves. She has heterochromia iridum, a genetic condition which causes the irises to have different coloration, with her left eye being blue and her right eye being pink. Notably, her pink eye in official models has an "X" across it.
Personality[]
Dr. Xenon is a smug, irritable, hostile yet affable character, having time to chitchat and even speak casually to the player, who is a direct enemy of her twice with no problem. In Part 2 of the 2024 XMAS Event however, her cheerful figure is completely shattered, revealing Dr. Xenon to be an emotionally unstable person, even displaying outright anger at the player, and comparing Frosty's "weak" army to the player. In Tutorial Mode, predating her defection from the GDA, she is professional and direct, teaching players through clear instructions and even designing robots herself to assist the player, though not to the point of disrespect as she hopes that she could meet the player in the future.
She is an exceptional engineer and scientist, creating not only several robots for use in Tutorial Mode, but also various lethal and unusually determined Eradicator models with the Eradicator MK I Combat noted to have destroyed a GDA base situated in Europe. For unknown reasons (and as a running gag), she seems to be unable to fix the core of eradicator models, implying some deficiency in skill. For whatever reason, she despises the GDA, especially the Advisor, and is dedicated to destroying the organization once and for all.
Lore[]
GDILIVES (John Roblox) stated that Dr. Xenon is said to be a major part of the Tower Defense X lore. She is the creator and/or sender of most of the enemies the player defends the GDA from, including all the enemies and bosses in the main modes (with the only possible exception being the Calamity's forces from Endless Mode) and the 2023 XMAS Event. Amongst her army, there is one known subfaction called the Plague Division.
She is first revealed to the players in XMAS Nightmare, introducing herself and showing her disdain towards the GDA without explaining why here. On Wave 3, she also reveals that the Eradicator MK I will be making a return, later encountered in Endless Mode as the Eradicator MK I Combat.
Dr. Malory and the Calamity[]
Dr. Xenon also had a companion named Dr. Malory as revealed in a picture, with her full appearance shown but her eyes crossed out, implying something bad happened to her. Dr. Malory was most likely sacrificed as a stone is shown in the background with the same symbol as Calamity. There is also an official picture of Dr. Xenon with the REDACTED enemy, hinting that her companion turned into this enemy as a result. It is unknown if her sacrifice was mutually agreed upon between the two, if Dr. Xenon forced her to do so, or if it was an accident. One specific drawing of Dr. Malory crying while smiling heavily implies the first option[1] but another of Malory saying "How could see do this to me." heavily implies the second option.[2] Also, another image shows that her status-quo with the Calamity appears negative, as another image shows her scared as cameras show Calamity's forces fight both the GDA and her own, including Guardians and Specters, along with a REDACTED up close at one of the cameras. There are also two notes; the first shows a stickman being placed into a portal, supposedly meant to represent Dr. Malory being sacrificed, and the second one besides it says "Dum". Another note also seems to say "rescue her", all of which implies regret for sacrificing her. Also, there's an image of a REDACTED with the words "I WILL KILL YOU BOTH", likely referring to the player and Dr. Xenon and is likely the real Dr. Malory.
Tower Battles Event[]
On wave 32 of Tower Battles and wave 16 of Tower Battles Nightmare, the Commander's and Void's words imply that Dr. Xenon used to be in the GDA, before being deposed for conspiring with the Void against the GDA. On wave 12 of Christmas I Nightmare, Dr. Xenon's words imply that she conspired against the GDA because of potential abuse towards her.
2024 Halloween Event[]
Though Dr. Xenon is only mentioned in this event, she never makes a true appearance. In the blog page of Halloween II in the 2024 Halloween Event, it mentions that one of Dr. Xenon's assembly lines, presumably for mass production of her creations such as the Eradidog and Avatar, has been taken over by the Engineer and that the GDA must liberate it. On Wave 9 of Halloween II Nightmare the Engineer mentions that he looks up to Dr. Xenon's creations, but he answers to his own calling, which is presumably taking over her abandoned factory. This, combined with Avatars, Grumbles and Anti Golems spawning in on waves 24, 20 and 23 respectively, implies that the Engineer has stolen and reprogrammed Dr. Xenon's creations and are using it against the player. Furthermore, in Chapter IV, The Wretched on Wave 4 sends multiple Predators and the Corrupted Apex Predator to destroy the GDA base in Ragnarok. The Advisor comments that the Predators sent aren't from Dr. Xenon, but rather are stolen from the Engineer, which further proves that the Engineer has rewired her creations that he found in the abandoned production line. The Wretched also describes Dr. Xenon's creations as 'idiotic'.
2024 XMAS Event[]
In the 2024 XMAS Event, Dr. Xenon appears in the cutscene of Part I, tapping into the GDA's communication systems to talk to the player(s) directly. She expresses her surprise that they were fighting the Awakened and noted how the GDA's victory was unfortunately costly. Oddly enough, she never acknowledges the fact that the Awakened also stole and revived some of her creations for their own purposes, and could've very much used them against her as the Engineer implies that she rejected an invite to their army as she may dislike the Calamity at this point. Dr. Xenon then states that with the GDA being weakened, it was her chance to strike back again, sending a scout force of enemies in order to destroy an Arctic Research Base and gather their crystals for unknown reasons, although Advisor states that these crystals apparently have a use against the Calamity. The scout force is eventually brought down, but Dr. Xenon wouldn't stop here.
In the beginning cutscene of Part II, Dr. Xenon tells the player she managed to revive General Celgar (one of the leaders of Frosty's army, with Frosty being an old event boss in Tower Battles) a task Advisor was against while she was still working for the GDA, before mentioning how she could've "saved him, you know?", vaguely implying that she had another partner. She then trembles a little before completely losing it, assuring the player that the GDA will fall in a very angry manner, before sending her forces along with what's left of Frosty's army in a 2nd attempt to get the crystals again, only this time at the Fortress Snowlyn. During the match, she says she remembers Frosty while he was still alive, and was actually tasked to find weaknesses he had while she was still in the GDA, although she never mentions the Revenant, which is heavily believed to be Frosty for multiple valid reasons. Also, because of his downfall, when General Celgar was revived, he was vengeful and falsely believed Frosty was alive, and so she exploited this by framing the player, whether they even got to kill Frosty or not. If the player wins and stops his invasion, she is enraged once again, saying rather childlike things, such as that she didn't actually need the crystals she was trying to take, and that Frosty's army was a disappointment like the player, despite the fact that they are the clear victor here.

- Dr. Xenon is voiced by Robin van der Niet.
- Dr. Xenon is pronounced as "ECKS-naan" by GDILIVES (John Roblox).
- This is most likely a mispronunciation from John, however. The Xenon element is pronounced ‘ZEE-naan’.
- "Xenon" is the 54th element in the periodic table of elements, being a mono-atomic noble gas. Whether or not she actually uses this element and if it's relevant to her character is unknown.
- Despite being the main antagonist of Tower Defense X, she has never made an appearance in dialogue in all of the main difficulties thus far, and has only been mentioned directly by the Advisor twice in one of the main five game modes.
- As of the Tower Battles Event, she has also been mentioned by the Commander and Void. Dr. Xenon did not give out any info to the Commander about the Multiplier, while the Void said that it spoke to "her'", mentioning Dr. Xenon on Wave 20 in Tower Battles Nightmare.
- One of Dr. Xenon’s dialogue icons appears as a decal on a block in The Really Long Map and Baseplate Toilet.
- As seen on Dr. Xenon's model, her face is actually slightly separated from her head, and the nametag on her is empty, but concept art shows that it should say her name.
- As stated by the Advisor after defeating Eradicator MK I Combat, Dr. Xenon is not good with the Eradicator's core overheating problem.
