The EDJ (short for the Encomium-DJ[1]) is a support tower with limited range that can buff the range and firerate of nearby towers and is highly recommended for both Expert Mode and Endless Mode, while being generally useful in virtually every other gamemode. The EDJ is solely a support tower and will do no damage to enemies whatsoever. It is unable to buff towers that do not benefit from Friendly Buffs such as Warship, XWM Turret, Sentries and Helicopters, and it cannot boost the range of the Slammer.
Upgrades[]
EDJ's Top Path aims to buff the range of towers within its range by 30%, and their firerate by up to 60%. It is granted an ability allowing it to do so on the third and fifth upgrade of this path. This tends to pair well with its Bottom Path counterpart, as it will reduce its long cooldown of 40 seconds by 15%, while increasing its range at the same time.
The Bottom Path for EDJ discounts upgrades (excluding the max upgrades) for towers, with it peaking at a 30% discount on its max upgrade. This is also able to discount other EDJs and is generally recommended to get when getting Juggernauts, Railgunners, and Golden Juggernauts due to their expensive upgrade costs. When used correctly, it is a great way to save money for other towers, and is heavily recommended in Expert Mode and Endless Mode.
The Catgirl skin is what the EDJ previously used to look like before the game's release.[5]
In the pre-release version, the Top Path was able to slow down enemies depending on her level and the zombie's side, as well as reveal stealthed enemies after 5 seconds. It was also planned to slow bosses too with an ability. Meanwhile, its Bottom Path had a 70% nearby tower sellback buff and was able to prevent nearby towers from being stunned from ground slams and indirect attacks.
Its design was changed because it didn't match the military style of the game.
The EDJ's upgrade portraits have more detailed eyes with blue irises, while the actual model's eyes are black.
All of the EDJ's upgrade icons use Ranger's upgrade render icons. They are assumed to be placeholders.
EDJ's ability icon used to be Ranger's grenade ability icon.
