Description[]

Endless Mode is the hardest gamemode out of the five modes. It has every mini-boss and boss from the previous modes(including event ones), with the addition of the Plague Guardian, Avatar, Eradicator MK IV, Eradidog, Eradicator MK I Combat, Hunter, Apex Predator, Calamity, Golden Eradicator Mark IV, Golden Eradicator Mark I Combat, and Void Apex Predator. This mode is (despite the name) NOT endless, and more waves are currently being added to it.

Despite the high difficulty and length, this comes with great victory rewards. Endless Mode grants an insane amount of power-ups past Wave 80 and guarantees a Nuclear Missile after reaching Wave 201, which is the strongest power-up in the game. Additionally, an insane amount of cash is given as a reward, as reaching Wave 201 grants at least Gold Currency 25000, which is the highest monetary reward the game can offer. XP rewards are also very high as well; 25125 XP. Overall, Endless Mode is arguably the best for raw grinding money or power-ups.

Strategies[]

  • While it is possible to beat Wave 200 solo, it is very difficult without proper strategy and towers, so it is recommended to play with two or three players to reduce the workload if you're attempting Endless Mode for the first time or if you want to be safe about your chances to getting far.
    • Generally speaking, a Quad-sized team is not superior to a trio, because of how the money bonuses work.
      • If players are planning on a quad/Trio/Duo Endless, all players should be assigned different roles due to limited Tower placing.
        • One player should be dedicated to Warship
        • One player should be dedicated to the Earlygame and Stunning bosses with either Slammer or Golden Ranger
        • One Player should be dedicated to DPS
        • One player should be dedicated to using Mine Layer/Golden Mine Layer and Support
          • Bear in mind all players are highly recommended to bring XWM Turret.

Either of these towers are a must have. Used for early-game and for stalling/grouping enemies for Warship and Golden Mine Layer (if you have it) to deal maximum damage, and bosses. If the player is bringing Golden Mine Layer, Golden Ranger is the better option due to it being better at grouping enemies than Slammer.

This tower is a must-have. It is used for early-game, for crowd control, bosses and baiting out attacks from the Eradicator Mark IV and it's Golden variant, Eradicator Mark 1 Combat and it's Golden Variant, Apex Predator and it's Void variant, and Void/Nightmare Void.

This tower is highly recommended. A reliable DPSDPS tower. Her three rebuilds allows the player to save money and the player won't have to constantly replace her, apart from Refreshing Rebuilds.

Preferably Toxicnator/Flame Trooper/Cryo Blaster for the extra DamageDamage/stall, a 2nd DPS tower. The remaining tower slot can be used for Mine Layer or its golden version, Relic for the Overseer unit and Earlygame or Z.E.D for the high DPS and Ignore Laser Resistance of the Level 5 Z.E.D Unit.
  • Do not rely too much on Warship or Golden Juggernaut as this mode contains some of the only bosses able to directly target Warships, which obliterates them even if they are on full HP, with the latter capable of being killed easily if too close to the track by Ravages or Eradicator MK I C's Annihilation Sweep.
    • XWM Turret is a reliable way of damage, whilst also having three rebuilds and ignoring bullet resistance, but cannot be buffed by EDJ or John.
    • Slammer should always be used due to it having 1.5s stun time against bosses[3], making it extremely useful for stalling enemies.
      • Note that bosses have complete stun immunity for 3s against the cause of the stun after being stunned.
        • To elaborate, when a Slammer stuns a boss, that boss will have complete stun immunity against Slammer and cannot be Grand Slammed again for 3s. But that boss can still be stunned from another source such as Golden Ranger's grenade and Golden Mine Layer's charged mine during that 3s duration for Slammer.
  • The Farm is very useful, due to the high number of waves equating to a large amount of money the Farm can give.
    • The top path is also quite helpful as it not only gives money but increases base health, allowing you to tank enemies as a last resort if they get past your defence. This is very effective against the Multiplier X as it can easily get past your defence with its speed and HP.
    • The Farm loses value later on in the game income wise, as the sheer amount of high health enemies are more than enough for your economy.
  • Bottom path Grenadiers are very useful as the enemies come in hordes and/or can be very fast, which the Grenadier can counter.
  • Cryo Blaster is not necessary for Endless Mode. However, below are the list of the waves you can use Cryo Blaster on if you do wish to bring it.
    • Wave 134 contains a horde of heavily buffed Revived Mutated Zombies. Prepare multiple 5-2 Cryo Blasters for them.
    • Wave 169 contains one singular extremely buffed Heavy Zombie+ that can be frozen using one 5-2 Cryo Blaster.
    • Wave 171 contains two extremely buffed Grumbles with some Resurrected Johns that can quickly reach your base. Prepare a lot of 2-5 Cryo Blasters in wave 170 once the boss there is close to death. When all enemies are frozen, place a 5-2 Cryo Blaster for each frozen enemy and sell all the 2-5 Cryo Blasters to prepare for the next wave. The frozen enemies will remain frozen as long as there is a Cryo Blaster.
    • Wave 182 contains a single extremely buffed Normal that can be frozen using one 5-2 Cryo Blaster.
  • Support towers like Toxicnator, Mine Layer and Golden Mine Layer are highly recommended to bring for longer rounds due to later waves having massive hordes of high-health zombies, which can be countered with either tower mentioned.
    • Cryo Blaster can also be used to stall out waves, giving Mine Layer time to build up mines if any have been used
  • If you want an easier time playing Endless Mode, play it on Simple or Easy maps, as these maps will help alleviate Endless Mode's high difficulty.
    • Only attempt this on Normal or Hard maps if you're an experienced player and/or you have proper strategies.
    • As for Impossible maps, it is entirely possible to reach up to Wave 100, but requires a very coordinated and strategic team, along with intense micromanagement for towers.
  • Power-ups aren't needed, but it does help out late game past wave 80, due to the high number of crowds, tanky and fast enemies that appear.
    • With the right loadout and strategy, it's possible to get far into Endless without the help of Power-Ups.
  • A few waves stand out in difficulty and should be considered during the late game.

Trivia[]

  • While most people initially assumed that Endless Mode is Nightmare Mode, it was confirmed that the two are separate, and Nightmare Mode will be released at a later date.
  • The teaser trailer for Endless Mode was originally called Tower Defense X Nightmare Mode teaser, but was changed to Endless Mode teaser once the trailer came out. This was most likely done as a joke by John to fool the community into thinking the upcoming mode was Nightmare Mode.
  • The Bombardier enemy was shown in John's Endless Mode showcase livestream, but is currently omitted in Endless.
  • The last bit of dialogue comes from the Advisor at the start of Wave 121, who appears to say "You're not supposed to be here."
    • This is a remnant from the first version Endless Mode's wave format where Wave 120 was designed to be impossible to complete. It is unknown why it remains at Wave 121.
  • Currently, Endless Mode and Tower Battles Nightmare are the only modes to have manually adjusted statistics, specifically health, shield, and speed.
  • Though Endless Mode is advertised as Endless, an informal end is established through an impossible wave.
    • From it's initial release to 27 April 2024, this was done on Waves 120 & 121, with wave 120 featuring a Calamity with Health13,333,332 and +25% speed increase both shared with it's spawns, and wave 121 featuring a Multiplier X which would multiply the Wave 120 calamity, a John Toilet, and a Calamity with Health26,666,665 health and an unknown speed increase, both shared by it's spawns.
    • From 27 April 2024 to 20 July 2024, this was done on wave 172 & 173, with wave 172 featuring twenty Calamities with Health679,999,932 and Shield2,039,999,796, meaning you were supposed to deal a total of Damage54,399,994,560 damage.
      • In practice, however, you would have to deal much more due to the Calamities' spawns.
    • Wave 173 featured 3 SUPER REVIVED TOLIET JOHN MK I9X with Health306M health and Shield918M shield.
    • Currently, this is done on wave 201 with a large group of Endbringer, which is a reference to the final wave of TB PvP mode and no chance of killing all of them due to being spawned endlessly.
  • According to the lore, any wave after Wave 80 Is not canon, meaning Assailant, Void Apex Predator, Golden Eradicator MK IV and Golden Eradicator MK I Combat are NOT canon.
  • Currently, Endless Mode is the only mode where you can rewind waves 1-9 with gold.
