A flamethrower unit that burns enemies in a line, dealing damage over time and boosting incoming damage! Struggles with stealth and fire-resistant foes.
The Flame Trooper is a tower that deals fire damage with its flamethrower to enemies. Like the Toxicnator, it deals damage over time with its flamethrower and can debuff enemies to make towers deal more damage to them, but it is unable to debuff bosses. It could have been obtained from the 2024 Halloween Event or purchased separately for 700. It is a great splash tower that is useful for dealing with hordes of enemies, but it will struggle with stealthed enemies due to the towers lack of Stealth Detection. It will also struggle heavily with Fire Resistant enemies like the Toxic Waste, which are predominant in the later waves of Expert Mode.
Upgrades[]
The Flame Trooper only has one path, which mainly increases its damage. However, its second upgrade allows it to debuff enemies and make them take more damage when they are set on fire, unlike the Toxicnator, which can only debuff enemies when its ability is used on them. It is also granted Stun Immunity on its fourth upgrade and the Fire Ring ability that can deal up to 1,300 Damage to any enemies within its radius.
Emits a ring of fire around itself, dealing heavy Fire damage to enemies caught in the blast.
500.0 Damage
Burn (100.0 DPS for 8 seconds)
20.00s Cooldown
Strategies[]
The Flame Trooper is great for hordes due to its high DPS, firerate, and piercing capabilities.
Like the Toxicnator, the Flame Trooper can make towers deal extra damage to enemies, which is useful for high health enemies.
This does not work on bosses, however, unlike the Toxicnator.
Towers like the Ghost and Sniper are useful for revealing stealthed enemies in order to allow the Flame Trooper to damage them.
The Flame Trooper can indirectly hit stealthed enemies but this is unreliable on its part.
Though all other stats can be buffed, the Flame Trooper's range cannot be buffed by EDJ or Commander.
Even if an enemy has 100% fire damage resistance, the Flame Trooper still can apply its extra damage debuff on the enemy, which allows the tower to be relevant for all modes, even Endless Mode.
It is a good idea to set the Flame Trooper to Random targeting, as it will be able to inflict the extra damage debuff on every enemy in its range as opposed to just the enemy in the front.
Trivia[]
Though not the first tower to use Fire as a damage type, it is the only tower that exclusively uses this damage type.
The Flame Trooper could be based off the Flamethrower from Tower Battles, due to some similarities in how both of the towers function and their designs.
When victorious, the Flame Trooper will start doing the Banana Dance, which was popularized through the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" song.
The Flame Trooper and the Cryo Blaster are the only towers to smoothly rotate to their target instead of locking on.
