Description[]

The Flamethrower is a special unit spawned by the Barracks tower and is only available at X-5 in the bottom path. Armed with a flamethrower, it is capable of melting hordes of enemies with a decently high DPS, low reload time, burning effect, and extremely high pierce. Since the flames from the weapon don’t deal bullet type damage, it can penetrate through armor making the Flamethrower much more versatile. On the flipside, it is quite weak against much tankier and speedy enemies such as the Abomination and Revived Titan and will die if not supported by high DPS towers and other units such as the Rioter and Scout.

The Flamethrower, like every unit in the Barracks bottom path, has no stealth detection, making enemies like stealthed abominations very deadly against this unit. Thus, it is advised to place towers with stealth detection and a 4-X/5-X Barracks to support and increase the survivability of the Flamethrower.

Appearance[]

Flamethrower wears a dark green military outfit with white buckles around his torso. He also wears a green helmet with a black visor and white mask. Carries red fuel tanks on his back which connects to the M2 Flamethrower he wields.

Strategies[]

  • The Flamethrower is useful in the later waves of Intermediate and Elite Mode, as its incredible DPS against hordes lets your towers focus on the tankier targets.
  • The X-5 upgrade needed to unlock the Flamethrower is very expensive compared to previous upgrades, locked behind the other expensive upgrades of the M202 Trooper and the Rioter.
    • Farms are recommended to more quick afford the steep price increase.
  • Getting multiple X-5 Barracks is an effective strategy, as the flamethrowers can quickly stack up to eviscerate hordes and have slightly greater survivability against the faster, tankier zombies.
  • The Flamethrower walks very slowly, so if you are playing on a long map, it may take a while for them to get to the front lines and attack.

Trivia[]

  • When using the Tower Battles Barracks skin, the Flamethrower will resemble the tower of the same name from Tower Battles.
  • This is first unit that uses the Fire damage type.
