Description[]

The Laser Gunner is a high-tech single-target tower that is comparable to the Golden Ranger in terms of their overall use. Its technology gives it an advantage over many of the towers in-game granting it Stealth DetectionStealth Detection at base level, however, be aware that its base damage type is "Bullet" preventing it from dealing full damage to armored enemies unlike the Golden Ranger. The Laser Gunner, despite lacking health, is a great tower that has solid DPS overall, but it does require EDJ and John to make it viable late game. Players should keep in mind that Eradicator MK II and multiple enemies in Endless Mode have laser resistance, with some enemies like the Assailant being completely laser resistant, meaning the Laser Gunner will not be able to deal any damage to them.

The Laser Gunner has 2 abilities, each being able to be unlocked on their respective path. Top Path grants it the Shock Rounds ability, being able to stun enemies for a very small duration of time.

The Bottom Path grants it the Stealth Sensor ability, being able to emit an energetic explosion that permanently reveals stealth, and deals damage on the side, to the enemies caught in it's radius.

Upgrades[]

The Top Path for the Laser Gunner grants it great range, decent health, and PiercePierce. Pierce allows the tower to attack multiple enemies at once, with its max pierce count being 2, allowing it to hit up to three enemies at once. When paired with multiple Top Path Laser Gunners, it can be a great way to deal with hordes of enemies. Despite being more expensive than the Bottom Path, players should opt to get this path. Later on, it gains the Shock Rounds ability, able to slow down hordes of enemies for a set amount of time.

The Bottom Path for the Laser Gunner is cheaper and grants it more single-target DPS than its Top Path, while gaining an ability that unstealths nearby enemies and deals splash damage to them as well. However, this has less range and health, and is unable to pierce through multiple enemies.

Strategies[]

  • Laser Gunner's Stealth Sensor ability is useful to towers without Stealth Detection Stealth Detection and can be useful against small hordes.
  • Laser Gunner's Top Path can be useful for clearing swarms due to its decently high DPS and pierce ability.
  • Laser Gunner is very useful for Intermediate Mode and Expert Mode due to his damage type changing to Laser at his 2-X upgrade and its high early game DPS at the same level.
  • It is recommended to place Bottom Path Laser Gunners near the path due to their lack of range.
  • The Laser Gunner is a good early defense tower due to its early Stealth Detection Stealth Detection at Level 0-0.

Trivia[]

  • According to weapons concept art, Laser Gunner's default blaster is named G1100K2, meaning this is a laser recreation of the G11K2 prototype assault rifle.
    • The Laser Gunner's bottom path Laser SMG, however, is based off of the KRISS Vector.
  • Laser Gunner is the first tower to gain Stealth DetectionStealth Detection at its base level, with the second being the Golden Mine Layer.
  • The Laser Gunner is one of the few towers to use PiercePierce, with the others being Sniper, Railgunner, and Golden Juggernaut.
  • Despite the Former Store Description stating that Laser Gunner starts off with armor penetration, as of the game's BETA release, he does not.
  • Laser Gunner is the second of the 9 towers that require a level in order to be obtained. Alongside the Sniper, Armored Factory, XWM Turret, Artillery, Slammer, Ghost, Helicopter, Mobster and Warship.
  • Its armor could be a nod to science fiction power armor, top path is most likely from the game Warhammer, or a stormtrooper. while bottom path is based most likely based on Captain Rex.
  • In Laser Gunner's Stat Sheet, it mentions that Laser wasn't able to be ignored "For Now", meaning Laser resistance was in development, but wasn't completed until the Endless Mode update.
