Description[]

The Mobster is an offensive-support tower that can be unlocked with Rank 50 and Gold Currency 15,000 or alternatively Robux 800 Robux at any level. It shoots while automatically summoning units such as Goon 1 or Agent 1.

Its Top Path focuses more on damage with better DPS, Firerate, and Stronger Summons, while its Bottom Path is more economy oriented with Nearby Tower Death Cashback and it's Place Bounty Ability. Compared to other towers, it's limited placement limit prohibits it from being an effective main DPS tower endgame, but it's economical benefits can be useful.

Upgrades[]

The Mobster's top path is relatively cheap and spawns a huge horde of Goons, which makes it a great early-mid game tower as it serves as an offensive tower and a spawner tower. Its higher-level goons also ignore bullet resistance and detect stealth, allowing them to fight a wider variety of enemies. It's ability, AP Rounds, increases it's damage temporally and grants it Armour Penetration Ignore Bullet Resistance, making it more effective on bosses or enemies with high levels of bullet resistance.

The Mobster's bottom path is also effective in the early game as it gains StealthdetectionStealth Detection for a dirt-cheap price. It also gains range and units with stronger single DPS called Agents. However, the agents never gain stealth detection, making leaking stealthed enemies deadlier. In addition, the Mobster itself gains Armour Penetration Ignore Bullet Resistance on Level X-5, but there are many better units for armored enemies at that The bottom path can also serve as a form of economy tower as it gives the player up to 35% of their cash back if a tower dies around it. It gains the Place Bounty Ability, which places a permanent debuff on the strongest enemy selected in it's range. When the debuffed enemy dies, the player who placed the ability gains a bonus cash reward that is based on the enemy's health value. The percentage and reward limit are based on the ability level. There can only be one bounty on an enemy, but several players can place their own bounties on the same enemy.

Strategies[]

  • The Mobster is a pretty good option for an early game defender, as its base and upgrade costs are cheap and it spawns in a Goon 1 which can help clean up enemies that leak through.
  • It has dirt cheap stealth detection for Cash $225, making it useful for early game stealth enemies.
    • Because it is not exclusive to either path, both paths have stealth detection.
    • In addition, Goons 2 and 3 also have stealth detection. However, it is worth noting the Goon 1 and the Agents do not.
  • The Bottom Path salvages 35% of a dead tower's cost; place Bottom Path Mobsters near expensive towers like XWM Turrets and Golden Juggernauts as they have extremely high value and will give back a lot of money.
    • This even works on the Warship.
    • However, this is not effective against bosses with many AOE attacks as the Mobster itself is likely to die.

Trivia[]

  • The Mobster is the first tower that actively spawns units (without an ability) and attacks enemies normally, though it is not the first tower that can spawn units, which goes to the Operator.
  • The Mobster's spawns are the only units with multiple variants to not have levels (instead just being the first, second, or third iteration of a unit).
  • The Mobster may be inspired by the Crook Boss from Tower Defense Simulator.
