Description[]
The Nightmare Exo Santa is the final boss of XMAS Nightmare as well as a boss appearing in Endless Mode. Although pretty much the same as its normal variant with higher health and stronger abilities, the real difficulty in XMAS Nightmare comes from the Multiplier X that duplicates it shortly after the boss spawns.
It also appears in Christmas I Nightmare alongside a second Nightmare Exo Santa with a bit less health and some shield. Though it is not too much of a threat as it isn't as lethal as the Burnt Ginger D.R.E.A.D., it can still cause a loss without sufficient DPS.
Upon death, the Nightmare Exo Santa stumbles forward before falling.
Appearance[]
The Nightmare Exo Santa takes the typical appearance of Santa Claus with a jolly expression, with a red Santa suit and an extra line of fur on its legs.
After being slightly damaged, its exoskeleton deteriorates, revealing some of its wiring as well as its endoskeleton's skull and glowing left eye, as well as looking far more roughed up.
After being heavily damaged, its exoskeleton further deteriorates, fully revealing its endoskeleton's skull as well as even more of its wiring, and even the metal part of its hand.
Strategies[]
- Because the Nightmare Exo Santa has relatively high health, Laser Gunner, Juggernaut and/or Railgunner with EDJ and John support is necessary to take it down.
- Due to its poor crowd control, numerous lower-level towers is preferable to fewer maxxed-out towers.
- The Nightmare Exo Santa's Festive Spray deals quite a lot of damage. However, it has a relatively long cooldown.
- It is especially deadly against aerial towers like Helicopter, so they should be moved away when it uses that ability.
- The enemies from Jolly Present are most likely to be killed relatively easily due to the demand for high-DPS towers to defeat the Nightmare Exo Santa.
- Do not underestimate it if the Nightmare Exo Santa is near the exit, however, as if it is close enough, enemies could spawn near or in the exit, thus causing a loss.
- Regardless, towers should be placed at the back, as the spawned enemies could potentially evade the frontlines and cause a loss.
- The Nightmare Exo Santa's Burst of Carols cannot be baited, but it can be tanked. An X-5 Railgunner is expensive enough to draw in its Burst of Carols and is tanky enough to survive one volley of its shots, allowing Juggernauts to live.
- Juggernauts themselves can tank the shots as well, but not as well as an X-5 Railgunner due to its lack of health and cost to draw in its shots.
- Do note that, in XMAS Nightmare, the cloned Nightmare Exo Santa does not give cash which is a problem due to the demand for expensive, high-DPS towers to kill the Nightmare Exo Santa.
- This can be slightly mitigated by using bottom path EDJs and selling towers out of range.
- As for its Endless appearance, the Nightmare Exo Santa shouldn't pose much of a threat as the much larger avaliability of money allow for towers like XWM Turret, Golden Juggernaut, and Warship to be used to kill the Nightmare Exo Santa much quicker.
- The abilities of Golden Ranger and Slammer can be used to stun the Nightmare Exo Santa to stall its abilities and give towers more time to attack.
- In Christmas I Nightmare, the two Nightmare Exo Santas can deal massive damage to defenses, so Medics are recommended to keep them alive.
- It is recommended to lightly bait as they will likely be out of range of the defense most of the time, allowing them time to get far onto the path and cause a loss with its Jolly Present.
Trivia[]
