The Slammer is an early-game tower with stunning capabilities and Stun Immunity on both of her paths, and she is the first melee tower introduced to Tower Defense X. The tower has a very small range that cannot be boosted by an EDJ, but she gains an ability that allows her to stun every enemy (including most bosses) for 1.5s, which the Golden Ranger was the only tower able to do so before her release. She serves as a great early game Splash damage tower that can rival the Grenadier for his splash damage and stun.
Upgrades[]
Slammer's Top Path is meant for dealing with crowds of enemies. She gains Stun Immunity on her third upgrade. She is also granted an ability that deals 800, applies burn to enemies dealing 50.0 for 10.0s, and can stun any enemy[1] for 1.5s. However, she does not get Stealth Detection like her Bottom Path.
The Bottom Path for the Slammer grants her a lengthy Stun Duration and Stealth Detection, allowing her to deal with the numerous stealthed enemies on Elite Mode and Expert Mode. She is also a lot cheaper than its Top Path at the cost of being unable to stun bosses.
The Slammer is capable of damaging enemies without melee resistance that only a few enemies from the 2024 Halloween Event has, making her very useful for classic modes.
The Slammer can be used for both hefty damage and support as she has very high damage per swing and stuns.
With the potential to hit more than one enemy, the Slammer can be fairly good against hordes.
With her stunning ability; the Slammer can be used to force enemies closer together. This can drastically increase the effectiveness of splash damage towers.
Placing the Slammer in corners of paths can catch more enemies within her splash radius and range.
The Slammer's ability "Grand Slam" can be used to deal hefty damage to hordes and stun all enemies including bosses.
However, using her ability will not affect bosses if they are already executing their own abilities.
Note it is less effective on Fire Resistant enemies.
Due to her small range, the Slammer may leak some enemies, so it's advised to add more support.
Unfortunately, Slammer's small range cannot be remedied by support towers like EDJ or Commander. While she is able to receive their firerate and damage buffs respectively, Slammer can't have her range increased aside from upgrades.
Trivia[]
The Slammer is voiced by Robin van der Niet, who also voices Dr. Xenon, formerly voiced by Fibaru up until the 2025 Valentines Event update.
One thing to note is that Robin was initially planned to replace Slammer's voice lines back in September, but this was delayed because John was "too lazy".
The Slammer has the smallest base Range out of every tower in Tower Defense X.
The Slammer was originally going to be called the "Smasher", but this was changed due to John just not liking the name.[3]
